Host families in Ireland
The importance of knowing each other

Having several years of operating under our collective belt, we have been able to formulate some theories and opinions as to what constitutes the bases for a good exchange between student and family.

The simple fact is that there is no single attribute or variable we can point to, as to the essence of getting it right. However, a reoccurring theme must be communication, and understanding the needs of both the family and the student.

With this in mind, we are packing our bags and heading off on at least two planned visits to Monaghan and the surrounding areas. Late March/April and May/June.

On previous years, intermediaries acted on our behalf to recruit and manage host families. Although we did get many amicable, homely and caring families, the lack of commination between us also led to several difficulties, misunderstandings and general discomfort, both for families and students.

Although we will always have someone on the ground in the local area, to whom you can address questions and concerns, please feel free to contact us directly at any time. You can contact us via Facebook Messenger, our website or call us directly.
